Kegel's Produce Facility Inspection Program
Kegel's Produce goes above and beyond industry standards to ensure that customer’s can trust the way we handle our quality produce. We take great pride in the cleanliness of our state of the art facility and in the proper training of our employees on how to properly use their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The sanitation team at Kegel's Produce ensures on a daily basis that all Food Safety Regulations as well as the strict sanitation code established by Kegel's Produce are closely monitored. A member of the sanitation team is always on duty, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We have a daytime sanitation crew who are responsible for properly cleaning the warehouse, bathrooms, offices, fresh cut and gowning areas. Our cooler sanitation team uses precision in the up keep of the five temperature controlled coolers; they are in charge of making sure that each cooler is thoroughly cleaned and that all produce is stored properly. The Fresh-Cut sanitation team does a very detailed and intricate cleaning and sanitation of the Fresh-Cut rooms every night. They are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all cutting instruments, the equipment which is used daily for slicing, dicing and peeling. They also clean and sanitize the floors and walls of all the rooms as well. When we say we clean from top to bottom, we mean it! Each crew member completes a sanitation log and submits it to the warehouse supervisors. The supervisors then inspect each item to guarantee that all areas are clean and sanitized. We strive to make sure that our customers receive the best product which has been stored in the best of conditions.

Kegel's Produce also takes a great pride in educating and training each employee regardless of their job title. Our goal is to have everyone trained on how to properly handle the many products we offer. We have our Good Manufacturing Practices training which covers many topics including washing hands, boots, and the use of PPE that is provided to them. This training is done for all new employees before they are introduced to the handling of the produce. There are also quarterly training sessions done which cover a wide variety of topics. As you can see, we recognize the importance of training our employees so that you receive the very best.

We encourage tours of our state of the art facility to show the great pride that we take in our facility as well as the training of our staff. If you would like to set-up a tour please contact your produce consultant, we are positive that after you tour our facility you will know that we stand behind our motto “Fresh is Best”.
