2005 Lancaster Chamber Business Expo

The 2005 Lancaster Chamber Business Expo was a great success. The event was held at Franklin and Marshal College field house from 9am-6pm on Thursday October 20th. Over 200 area businesses turned out to showcase their products and services. Each year the show has a theme which exhibitors are asked to focus on. This year's theme, the spirit of the southwest, was a simple fit for a company that stocks over 20 varieties of peppers!

Kegel’s Produce invited executive chefs to collaborate at this year's event. The chefs prepared dishes that highlighted southwestern influence. Chef Jim Switzenberg prepared 7 salsas using a variety of 7 peppers. They ranged from mild to WARNING! HOT!. The crowd was lined up to get a taste.

Chef Robert Irvine was a major attraction at the 2005 expo. Chef Irvine is a world renowned Chef and personality. He has cooked for dignitaries throughout the world, hosts the NBC show The Effortless Gourmet, served aboard the royal Yacht Brittania, served as culinary director for the LPGA tour, and was director of culinary operations at the Trump Taj Mahal. Chef Irvine has accomplished many things throughout his life and the list continues to grow.

Chef Robert Irvine and Chef Ralph Mazziochi prepared a delicious cut of loin, which was served with fresh baby greens and roasted corn salsa. They attracted and entertained a lively crowd from noon until 2:00. Everyone had a blast and no one went away hungry.

Chef Louis Chabot rounded out the day. He felt right at home. Chef Louis prepared an Aztec Potato Chili with his signature cornbread. It was amazing. The cornbread was devoured as fast it could be served.

In the end all the hard work paid off. Kegel's Produce earned a ribbon for having a very "attention getting" booth. Overall the day was fun and at the same time very informative. You couldn't ask for much more.
